Linking People with God and one another – we love to get involved in our local community and find ways for people to get involved in what we’re doing. You can participate with us in any of these areas.
Loaves and Fishes Café
Every Tuesday from 4.00pm – 5.30pm we serve a freshly-cooked takeaway meal FREE to anyone who wants it. The door is open to all with the ethos of ‘No strings attached, no questions asked.’ This service started in 2014 and has become part of the local community with regular guests and newcomers welcomed week after week. On Christmas Day we have a full dinner with entertainment for any who want to share the celebration with others.
We have a great team of volunteers from across the community, but we are always open for more. Call in on a Tuesday to see the Café in action and to chat to the team. Contact us for any more information, or download and complete this form:
The service is funded by donations and fundraising and run entirely by volunteers, co-ordinated by a lead team from BCC. We also link with Foodcloud to receive surplus food from supermarkets and manufacturers and either use this for our meals or give it away to guests on a Tuesday.
Our building is a multi-purpose facility that we make available as a community centre. Right in the town centre, it has a range of different rooms and commercial kitchen and is used for dance and theatre classes, language school, AA Group, counselling, self-defence and cookery courses as well as seminars and training.
Do you ever feel like your finances are controlling you instead of the other way around?
The CAP Money household budgeting course will teach you to get on top of your money, however small or big your income is. It’s just four sessions, it’s free and totally confidential. Most importantly, it’s a simple system that really works. We have seen people’s hope return as they get their budgets under control. Why not you?
